The Burnett Heads Progress & Sports Association is hosting the Burnett Heads Community Christmas Dinner & Party. There will be Kids Amusements, entertainment, raffles and a visit from Santa.

As the holiday season approaches, the Burnett Heads Progress and Sports Association is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated Burnett Heads Community Christmas Party. Mark your calendars for Saturday, 14 December, from 4pm to 9pm, as the Community Hall and Jack Norgate Oval come alive with festive cheer, family-friendly activities, and a spirit of togetherness.

The Christmas Party promises a wonderful evening of entertainment and activities for all ages. Families will enjoy a wide array of kid-friendly fun, including a jumping castle, face painting, and, of course, a magical visit from Santa Claus himself. Children can look forward to receiving presents from Santa, making their night even more special. Adults can indulge in the excitement of raffles offering fantastic prizes, while live music by The Other Bloke sets the perfect backdrop for an evening of relaxation and connection. Drinks will also be available for purchase to keep spirits high throughout the night. This year, the event takes on a new dimension with the addition of a paid dinner option. This change comes as a result of merging the Community Christmas Dinner with the Christmas Party, creating a combined celebration that is inclusive of all ages.

Traditionally, the dinner has been an adults-only affair, but this year, children are warmly welcomed, with a specially priced kids’ meal available for just $10. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and the proceeds from selling surplus Community Hall furniture, the cost of the adult dinner has been significantly reduced from $45 to just $25. This subsidy ensures that more community members can afford to enjoy a delicious meal together. For those feeling the spirit of giving, we invite you to purchase extra tickets to gift to those who might otherwise be unable to attend. If you or someone you know would like to participate but find the cost of the dinner challenging, please reach out to the Progress Association or stop by ANP Kays. Families with tight budgets or couples who can only afford one ticket are also encouraged to talk to us – we’re committed to making this event as inclusive as possible.

Beyond the dinner, the evening holds another highlight: the announcement of the Burnett Heads Community Award recipients. These awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals who make Burnett Heads such a wonderful place to live. The funds raised from the dinner, raffles, and other activities will directly benefit our community, helping to fund the Free Australia Day Breakfast in January and supporting the ongoing maintenance of the Community Hall and Library. We invite you to join us in celebrating the holiday season in true Burnett Heads style – with joy, generosity, and connection. Whether you’re here for the activities, the music, the dinner, or simply to catch up with friends and neighbours, there’s a place for you at this festive gathering.
